- Different welding symbols are used to specify welding on a drawing.
- The above shown welding symbol is of single fillet weld.
- Fillet welds are also known as lap welds. These welds are obtained by overlapping two planes and by welding the intersected edge.
- The different types of fillet welds are:
1) Parallel fillet weld:
In these welds, load axis is parallel to the axis of fillet.
2) Transverse fillet weld:
In these welds, load axis is perpendicular to the axis of fillet. Single and double transverse welds are types of transverse fillet welds.
