    - Surface grinding is carried out by using grinding wheel made of fine grains of abrasive materials.

    - The grains in grinding wheel remove very thin chips during the high speed rotation of grinding wheel.

    - The chips removed during grinding process have similar cross-sectional area to the chips abstained in milling operation.

    - Therefore, The grinding process results in good surface finishing because;

    1. The chips removed during process are very small

    2. The process is carried out at high cutting speed.
