    - The sand in its natural or moist state is called as green sand.

    - It is a mixture of silica sand, clay and water. Clay content in green sand is about 20 to 30% and water content is about 6 to 10%

    - Application of green sand is in small size castings for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

    - Dry sand is a green sand without moisture content and loam sand contains more clay percentage than green sand.
