    - Buttress threads are also known as breech-lock threads and they refer to two different thread profiles. Lead screw and hydraulic sealing threads are the two thread profiles.

    - In Buttress threads, one side of threaded face is perpendicular to the screw axis and the other face is slanted at 45°

    - Buttress threads have high power due to combined strength of square and V thread.

    - These threads have low friction and they are used to handle high axial thrust in one direction.
