Clearance fits:
Fits characterized by positive difference between size of shaft and hole are called as clearance fits.
- Clearance fits are further classified as:
1) Slack running fit
2) Loose running fit
3) Running fit
4) Easy slide fit
5) Slide fit
Slide fit:
This fit has little clearance and offers greater precision in moving parts. Slide fits are used for mating parts which have relatively slow motion between them.
Transition fits:
Fits between clearance and interference fits are called as transition fits. They do not guarantee either clearance or interference and their purpose is to ensure location between mating parts.
Transition fits are further classified as:
1) Force fit
2) Push fit
3) Wringing fits
4) Tight fit
