- Knuckle joint is used when small amount of angular moment is needed when two rods are to be connected under action of tensile forces.
- If knuckle is guided then it can also support compressive load.
- Tension link in bridge structure is a knuckle joint, tie rod of roof truss and jib crank are the examples of knuckle joint.
- Knuckle joint consists of eye, fork and knuckle pin. It is made of plain carbon steel or alloy steel.
