    - Rolling is a metal forming process in which cross-sectional area of a cylindrical bar is reduced with corresponding increase in length.

    - The volume of metal that enters the rolling stand should remain constant to ensure that there isn't any loss of metal due to filling voids and cavities in the process.

    - Rolling is normally a hot working process unless specifically mentioned as cold rolling
