Pressure angle is the angle between tooth face and gear wheel tangent. Smaller pressure angles have high contact ratio and result in noiseless operation. They have low separating and radial force.
But low pressure angles result in high contact and bending stresses. To avoid interference large number of teeth are required for small pressure angles.
