    - Capability ratio is defined as the ratio of specification range and process capability.

    - Specification range = ( USL – LSL) and process capability = 6σ

    - Minimum value of Cp required for general purpose is 21.33 and has a rejection number of 64 ppm.

    - If the value of Cp is high, less number of defects are produced and has better accuracy.

    Process capability: In terms of quality control, process capability is equal to 6σ. Because the shafts produced are in the range of x̿ ± 3σ , if the process is under statistical control with respect to control limits.
