- The graphical representation of variation of axial load on y axis and position of cross section along x axis is called as axial thrust diagram.
- Bending moment is generally equal to zero at the point of contra-flexure.
- The point of contra-flexure is useful to design reinforced concrete, structural steel beams, etc. It is the point where bending occurs and changes its sign from positive to negative or vice-versa.
- Point of contra-flexure is a point where hogging of beam changes to sagging or vice-versa.
