    - Quality of service (QoS) is the overall performance of a telephony or computer network that allow the transport traffic with special requirements.

    - Quality of service sometimes refers to the level of quality of service that is the guaranteed service quality.

    - The QoS parameters are as follows:

    - Connection establishment delay:

            - The time difference between the instant at which a transport connection is requested and the instant at which it is confirmed is called as connection establishment delay

            - The shorter the delay the better the service.

    - Connection establishment failure probability:

            - It is the probability that connection is not established even after the maximum connection establishment delay.

            - This problem will occur due to network congestion, lack of table space or some other problems.

    - Protection and Priority:

            - Protection provides a way to protect the transmitted data from being red or modified by some unauthorized parties.

            - Priority provides a way for the user to show that some of its connections are more important (have higher priority) than the other ones. This is important while handling the congestions, because the higher priority connections should get service before the low priority connections.
