    After plastic deformation slip lines are observed and they occur on widely spaced planes. After mechanical working and annealing twin lines are observed during twining.

    Slip occurs in body centered cubic structure and face centered cubic structure metals while twinning is mostly offered in hexagonal close packed structure metals.

    If deformation occurs due to slip, then large displacement occurs in one part of the crystal with respect to other part of crystal.
