North Eastern Council (NEC) has undertaken several various initiatives for developing NER during the year 2016.

As a step towards linking the NEC with institutes of excellence to make it as a state-of-art resource centre, ‘Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Center for Policy Research and Analysis’ was formally launched in October 2016 at the Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management (RGIIM), Shillong.
