- Aluminium and silicon are alloying elements.
- The method used to improve oxygen content during steel manufacturing is called as deoxidization.
- Aluminium controls grain growth and hence is added to control grain size.
- Silicon acts as principle deoxidizer. It is less effective in creasing rolled strength and hardness.
