There are three broad categories of freelance journalists – Jack of all trades freelance, production shift worker and part time freelance. The jack of all trade freelancer can go to anywhere and report on anything, often operates across several medias. The production shift worker work for a long period in sub-editing or reporting. They usually work for more than two employers. The part time freelancers do not contribute much of their time as they have other main job.
