Some of the epic movies such as Mother India, Mughal-e-Azam were also produced during this era. The movie “mother India”, was directed by Mehboob Khan and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language film in the Academy Award. Bimal Roy popularized the theme of reincarnation in with his movie Madhumati.
