- Hiralal Sen is considered as one of the first film makers in India. He made his first short film, “The Dancing Scene” from the opera “The flower of Persia”. He made around 40 films in his career.

- Harishchandra Sakharam Bhatvadekhar, who is popularly known as Save Dada, produced his first film – The Wrestlers in 1899. The movie was taken during a match session at the Hanging Gardens in Bombay.

- Splendid New View of Bombay was the debut film of FB Thanawa which was made in the year 1900. A few important landmarks of Bombay was portrayed in this movie. He also made the movie “Taboot Procession” in the same year.
