What is a pilot and what is its goal?A pilot is a process of reviewing a solution to decide if it’s capable of going in production or not. A pilot often consists of a set of users who are trained while testing and reviewing the system. The main aim of the pilot is to uncover any problem, hard to learn areas, train users with new system, verify the solution meets business demands, set expectations among the users, functionally test the system ensuring all objectives have been met. It’s important to prove the feasibility of the solution before the solution can be deployed into production environment. User feedbacks, suggestions, are accepted during the pilot apart from gaining results from various metrics for determining performance benchmarks. It validates both technical specifications and business requirements.
