Define Stress tests Stress tests are performed to test the stability and robustness of a system. It mainly tests by putting enhanced/unreal load on the system to observe its reaction to it. Stress testing is most important in systems that are relevant to real time processing or mission critical systems, where lives are in danger or the system failure can lead to catastrophic damages. Stress tests can be done manually or automatically using tools such as load runner. The idea is to not have the system crashing on high load or less availability of computational resources.
