What is replication? Explain its purpose.

Explaining replication in simple words is little bit tough but in order to understand it let us assume an example: Let us suppose that we have a database at location A and another database at location B then if any changes is made on database A then it is reflected on database B also this process is known as Replication. Where A is the mastery registery and B is the slave registery. Or Replications are simply a set of subscriptions created on the Master Registry that are then invoked from the Slave Registry.

Purpose: The main purpose of replication is that in case of the banking application or some application that require the database to be present 24x7 then if database server A is down then B can server the client.
