Options
- 40 min

- None

CORRECT ANSWER : 30 min

Discussion Board
correct answer is: 2hours

we have formula to find boat/boatman speed in still water
x=1/2*[downstreamspeed+upstreamspeed]
x=speed of boat in still water
first find individual speed for up and down stream
speed=distance/time
for upstream = 6km/1hr => 6km/hr.
for downstream = 1km/1/4hr => 4km/hr. #15 min= 1/4 hr.
=1/2*[6+4]
=10/2
=5km/hr.
now we have to find time for distance 10km in still water and we already have speed
speed=distance/ time
=>time =distance / speed
=10km/5km/hr.
=>2hr
