Accenture PLC is a global professional services company and provides strategy, consulting, digital technology and operation services.
This company visited our college for the recruitment of candidates for the graduate positions in Information Technology. 200 students participated in the placement test.
They allowed B.Tech students with 80% marks with no backlogs from previous years.
The selection process of Accenture went ahead in two steps:1. Aptitude Test
2. Personal Interview
1. Aptitude TestAptitude test was conducted by AMCAT. There were 3 sections to attempt – Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability.
Time was distributed as follows:
- 35 questions in Quantitative Aptitude for 25 minutes.
- 24 questions in Logical Reasoning for 35 minutes.
- 25 questions in Verbal Ability for 25 minutes.
The questions in QA were from ratio & proportion, logarithms, averages, profit & loss and data interpretation.
Logical Reasoning consisted of questions from blood relations, number series, sitting arrangements and statements & assumptions.
Verbal Ability section consisted of reading passages, sentence corrections, verbal analogies and spot the error.
The level of difficulty was moderate.
Around 115 students cleared the aptitude test.
2. Personal InterviewThis time Accenture conducted personal interview in which both, technical and HR interview were held together.
Some sample questions they asked us are:- Tell me something about yourself.
- What motivates you at work?
- What is your greatest weakness?
- What do you think are the essential qualities required to excel in this field?
Some sample questions from technical section:- What are the threats involved in IT management?
- What is Deming Cycle?
- In which state the thread is still alive, but is currently not eligible to run?
- Thread class conductor allocates new thread job. True or False?
- Which method returns an enumeration of the values contained in the dictionary?
After completing PI, finally 92 students were selected for Accenture.
Some important tips that will help you crack the test and interview:- Analyze the qualities that you required to possess to succeed in corporate environment. Take a sincere effort to develop these qualities in yourself. They will automatically show up in your interview.
- Demonstrate the keenness to learn if you do not have all the required experience.
- Show your flexible attitude during the personal interview.
- Sound ambitious but stable; Stay confident, composite and calm during the interview.
- The company mostly focused on missing letters puzzles. Prepare them well.
- In quantitaive aptitude, focus on logarithms.
- In the aptitude test, you cannot flag the question and return, you have to answer it before clicking “Next” button. There was no negative marking so you can attempt to make some educated guesses.
