I completely agree that with the advent of information technology, work and work practices have changed a lot in the last decade.
Information technology has provided opportunity to many people to work online irrespective of their physical condition and disabilities. This was not possible when working only meant going to a particular office. The lives of physically disabled has changed for the better due to this. And this certainly has a positive effect on the economy of a nation.
Also, in so many cases information technology helps to save the time. For example, in the field of communication. In the olden days, a letter would take a minimum of twenty days to reach from India to the United States. However, now within fraction of seconds an email is sent anywhere in the world. Online chatting and web cams have made communication between distant family members so easy. Not only the family members, but the business partners also in different countries can communicate so easily and effectively, thereby increasing the efficiency of business.
Distant education, online education has opened so many avenues for the students and young professionals. Online exams are rapidly replacing the notebook exams.
We cannot forget the revolution in the field of robotics. Everything, these days can be done with a help of a remote control. Gone are the days, when you had to get up multiple times to change the channel or increase the volume while watching a movie. The same is done with a remote control now. Jobs that cannot be accomplished by humans due to excess speed or physical strength required is being done by robotic machines. We see a lot of these in the construction sites. The tasks which were done by hundreds of labour with lot of difficulty are easily done by these machines in no time.
It can be concluded that information technology has altered our life to a great extent in the past decade and opened lots of avenues for us, introduced us to the world of digital knowledge and made our life adventurous where information technology surprises us every day with its new and never ending developments.

Now we all have the answer to everything we need to know. With internet connections on our mobile phones and tabs, we can search for any query at any time. Social interaction has also been taken to a new level with introduction to the digital world. Thus, on the whole the advent of information technology has proved to be a boon to all.
