What personal qualities I must have to become a successful automobile engineer?

To become a competent automobile engineer, you need to have a vast practical knowledge about the motor vehicles and its spare parts. You must also have good technical knowledge and technical drawing and designing skills to design vehicles like cars, bikes etc. It requires your interest along with your hard work, commitment, will power and devotion.

You would also need to have a strong base in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computers, Information technology and biotechnology. Also, one needs to have an analytical, problem solving skills, innovative mind and an eye for detail. Along with this, you should also have good communication skills to be able to explain your ideas and solutions to your pears. You must always believe in team work and should be able to adapt to different kinds of work environments.

The salary depends on your skills and experience and the company you are employed in. as a fresher you can earn between Rs.15,000-25,000 per month on an average however if you have passed out from a top notch institute like IIT, NIT, BITS you might end up getting a very high pay package per your academic records, knowledge and your background. After gaining experience in this field you are entitles for promotions and increments. So you can earn anywhere between Rs.40, 000- 80,000 along with bonuses\allowances and incentives. As a manager you can get a pay package between 8-12 lpa., and so on.
