The selection procedure of Axes has been observed to be consisitng of a written test followed by a technical test then a technical round of interview, group discussion and lastly the HR interview round. The first round is the written test round. This round is to check the general aptitude of the candidate. Questions in this section are based on relationships, number sequencing, GRE analogies, synonyms and antonyms. This section consisted of near about 50 questions.
The second round is of the technical test round. Here in this section as the name suggests all the questions asked are technical. The questions are asked on topics like Microprocessor, Data communications, Operating systems, C, C++ and JAVA.
The third round is the technical interview round. The questions asked by the manager are related to C, Data communication and microprocessor. Some of the questions in this section as well as the technical test section (i.e. in the second round) were based on Communications PCM, Quantization, solving quantization error, why is modulation required, companding. Some questions were also from computer networking like PING, ICMP, TCP and UDP. In questions from micro - programing included finding errors in the program, discussion on amount of memory allocated, instruction queue of 8086, and memory sizes.
The fourth round was of the Group Discussion round. Some of the topics observed in this round were, how can you develop India? And the group could choose specific areas like Education, Poverty, IT, Politics, etc for the discussion purpose.
The fifth and the last round is that of the HR round. This round is mainly conducted to judge the individuals credentials and attitude. This round consists of questions based on personal details like, educational background, family details, hobbies and interests, subject likes and dislikes, why you would like to join our company, dream job profile, goals and ambitions.
The best way to pass any interview and selection procedure is to be confident and know your subjects thoroughly.
The technical interview as well as the technical written round is a bit grilling and if you are not thorough with your subjects you may not be able to clear. You do not just have to be thorough with the subjects mentioned here in the data given above; you got to be clear with the basics of other subjects. Since the company deals into software development for telecommunication companies, you need to be thorough with the subjects related to communication.
