  • Introduction

Environmental engineering is the combination of principles of engineering and environment. Engineers in this field deals with the environment which is in urban and rural areas. They also deal with the waste management produced by the industries, which is very hazardous for the environment. They find the solutions to control the waste which is in the atmosphere by applying principles of waste management, emission management. This field includes designing, constructing and maintaining the system to handle all these parameters. Engineers are responsible to find better solutions for the problems related to environment to protect it and to manage it further for not letting it grow again in near future. Environmental engineers are specialized in water resource management, land pollution management and air pollution management. They can work with government as well as non-government agencies to reduce the effect caused by emission and pollution of the waste materials.

Performance and growth of industry in India

Environment engineers are expected to be in large numbers as more and more people are becoming concerned about the environment. The growth in India is very large and it is increasing day by day which has increased more pollution in the environment thus more people are required to reduce the effect of pollution on environment. The careers have been increased in last two to three decades. The growth is due to the concern of people due to increase in pollution of land and water which is affecting everyone’s life. More and more countries are badly hit by the hazardous effect of environment and it is continue to threaten them. The growth of engineers is in the field of chemical, geological, petroleum and mining. Professionals have been taken to solve the issues of environment by giving a logical explanation of the behavior of it.

    Options and Opportunities

There are lots of options and opportunities in this field. Environment engineers can go in the profession of sciences, ecology, economics, social sciences etc. There is a growing interest in the field of recovery experts and radiological scientists. Opportunities are also available in other disciplines such as civil, mechanical and electrical as more and more people are now getting aware of the waste being generated in these disciplines so more and more measures is being taken to reduce the effect caused by the elements of environments.
