Careless driving is to be blamed for rising number of fatal accidents

India is a hugely populated state and with the increasing number of family members there is an equal rise in the number of cars in the family leading to a lot of road traffic. There are spans of anarchic roads in the city where huge number of transport mediums fight their way out on the roads making people angry and frustrated as well.

It is just not careless driving to be blamed for rising number of accidents on the roads but there are numerous reasons for the increasing number of fatal accidents. The quality of the roads are not maintained, there are so many pot holes in the roads that at times it causes accidents, plus on highways, since there are no signals and speed breakers, people drive on high speeds and due to high speed the tyres of the cars would burst and accidents would take place. This was especially very common when the Delhi – Agra Expressway was constructed, there were cars speeding at 180 km/hour and suddenly the car tyre bursts, the car lost its control resulting into fatal accidents. Mobiles are another big reason for fatal accidents. While the driver is bust talking on the phone, he loses concentration and the track of other cars on the roads leading into fatal accidents.

There are many people who cross the roads when the signal is green, assuming that the car will stop. But if the car is in speed it at times becomes difficult for the driver to also stop immediately, especially if it is on highways, or flyovers. The implication of strict actions against breaking any law is also not prevalent in our country and by paying bribes, people can easily get off the crime they have done.

Another big reason for increasing number of fatal accidents is drunk drivers. People get drunk and drive, when because of being high under alcohol impression and they are unable to handle themselves, how will they handle a running car or if any unseen vehicle or person comes along their way. Breaking signals is another reason, nobody follows laws and lanes, anybody shifts lane at any time without giving indication to the other driver, and it often leads to fatal accidents especially if done on a highway or by some huge vehicle like trucks or buses. Road rage is also a big concern in today’s time, people are so frustrated with their stressful lives that often if any other vehicle commits even a small mistake, they plan to take revenge and in the course of action they meet through fatal accidents. The services of the cars are also not done on time and because of the wear and tear of the car, at times the tyres come off or the car loses its balance due to some mechanical glitch in any part of the car.

Hence it is just not careless driving those results into fatal accidents but the above listed reasons are also contribute hugely for the rising number of fatal accidents.
