Cognizant Placement Paper and Experience
Hi guys,
I am happy to share my experience of being interviewed by Cognizant during our campus placement month.
The recruiment process at Cognizant consists of 3 rounds:
1. Written test
2. Technical interview
3. HR interview
They started with a small introduction session where in they told us about the company -(Looking at the infrastructure and environment in the slides, I was quite fascinated). After this we were asked to move to the respective rooms for the written test.
A total of 55 questions were required to be answered in 60 minutes.
The first set was Quantitvate and analytical aptitude. It had 30 questions to be answered in 30 minutes. The questions ranged from a variety of topics like:
1. Trains
2. Ages
3. Blood relations
4. Syllogisms
5. Data sufficiency
6. Pictures etc.
Prepare with RS Aggarwal and the online tests to crack this round.
The verbal aptitude had questions on following topics:
1. Synonyms/ Antonyms
2. Identifying the right sentence
3. Comprehension
This section was tougher than the previous one.
They have sectional cut offs. So it is important that you clear both the sections.
70 out of 100 students were selected for Technical interview after this round.
The topics they mainly asked us during the tech interview as freshers were:
C, C++, OOPS(very important), DBMS, RDBMS, Java, Oracle, SQL, Software Engineering, SDLC.
So, prepare well what you have learnt at college.
The HR interview was quite interesting - Interviewer was quite friendly.
Some of the questions which we faced are:
1. Please introduce yourself.
2. Why did you choose to study in this college?
3. Do you think you will make it to Cognizant?
4. What is your expected salary?
5. What would you do if you were offered a higher salary by other company?
6. Are you preparing for any competitive exams?
7. Would you like to ask us anythig?
Bear in mind that interviewers notice your body language and you language during the interview. Maintain a formal language (don't use slang even if the interviewer is friendly) and a confident body language. Take 5 deep breaths before you enter the interview room and give it your best shot. It worked for me and I hope it does for you as well.....
The interview questions and answers, online practice tests and HR interview section on CareerRide.com were extremely helpful to me - I used them as a primary source of my preparation. I would like to thank CareerRide for making such a quality content available to us on Internet.
My best wishes to all....
