India Aviation 2014 show in Hyderabad


The 4th India Aviation Show will begin from March 12 in Hyderabad. This year the show will focus on enhancing air connectivity. The show will be jointly organized by FICCI and ministry of civil aviation.

Supreme Courts set a deadline for trial of convicted MPs and MLAs


The SC has set a deadline for the trial of convicted MPs and MLAs that such cases will have to be cleared within a year’s time. This judgment was given by a bench of judges headed by Justice RM Lodha. Also if trial was not completed within a year then the judges of trial courts will report to the High Court about the same with due reasons. This decision came after the landmark verdict of SC which refrains any convicted MP or MLA to remain in the Parliamnet or Assembly till the trial is completed. Under the same judgment, Laloo Yadav chief of RJD had to give away his post of MP after being convicted in the fodder scam by trial court.

RBI to work with HTC Global


HTC Global services, a Taiwan based company had collaborated with the Reserve Bank of India for developing an Export Data Processing and Management System (EDPMS). It also launched the Export Data Interfacing Solution (EDIS) which allows banks to comply with the new EDPMS. EDIS is a web based and cost effective solution to register with EDPMS.

ICC world rankings


Virat Kohli has gained the no. 1 position in the list of Batsmen in the ICC world rankings of ODI. At 2nd position is the South African Batsman AB de Villers. Other Indian Batsmen in the list are- Shikhar Dhawan at 8th rank, Rohit Sharma at 22nd and Ravindra Jadeja at 50th position.

Shyamla Gopinath Committee report


The committee headed by former deputy governor of RBI has suggested that the interest rate on FDs by Post offices be increased and the union cabinet has decided to hike interest rates with immediate effect. The new interest rates on small saving schemes will be applies from 1 April 2014.

New report on Gender equality in India


The new UN women report “Hearts and Minds: Women of India speak” has said that Gender based violence is still very rampant in the country and women are unsafe even in their workplaces. It also declared that HIV awareness is very low in India and risks are very high especially with the rural women. Also in decision making, women account for only 10% of seats in Parliament.
