ICC T20 World Cup 2014 in Bangladesh


Bangladesh is all set to host the ICC T20 World Cup 2014 and for the first time it will have 16 countries which will compete for the coveted cup.

7th Asian Gun Air Championship; India wins a gold


Heena Sindhu won the gold medal in women’s 7th Asian Air gun championship held in Kuwait. She hails from India. Chain Singh won the same title in men’s category. Also Pooja Ghatkar won the gold medal in women’s air rifle category. With this, India won 3 gold medals in the championship.

Akhilesh Gupta, new President of Indian Meteorological Society


Akhilesh Gupta who is the head of climate change programme at Department of science and Technology has been appointed as the new President of Indian Meteorological Society and he will succeed Shailesh Nayak.

India to provide financial assistance to Bhutan


India will provide financial help to Bhutan worth Rs.5000 crore for the next five years. With this, India will contribute Rs.4,500 crore towards Bhutan's 11th Plan, as well as Rs.500 crore towards an economic stimulus package. The decision was taken when PM of Bhutan Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay visited India.

New Zealand to hold referendum regarding its National flag


New Zealand will hold a referendum on changing the national flag of the country as per the decision taken by PM John Key. The decision was taken because the present flag presents the old colonial past as felt by many citizens. The current flag depict the Southern Cross star constellation and includes Britain's Union Jack in the top left corner.

Ranking of states as per being most Industry friendly


Haryana ranked at top position as per the most industry friendly state according to a Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu study sponsored by the Planning Commission. After Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are the other states at 2nd and 3rd position. The study was done in the year 2013 under the aegis of planning commission.
