UN security council vote on Ukraine


UN Security Council resolution declaring referendum on Crimean independence from Ukraine illegal was held to vote among the members of Security Council. Russia vetoed the resolution whereas China abstained from voting. Russia is said to have planned the merger of Crimea with it.

World’s first solar-powered toilet


The first solar powered, waterless toilet is going to be unveiled in India with the help of grants from Melinda and Bill Gates foundation. The self-contained, waterless toilet with its innovative technology converts human waste to biochar, a highly porous charcoal.

SBI has started its own payment network


SBI, the largest bank in India has launched its own payment intermediary as “SBI ePAY” which will allow e-commerce among merchants, traders and financial institutions. With this, SBI has become the first bank of India to provide any such service.

70 storey skyscraper temple in Vrindavan


“Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir”, a 213 metre high building is the new big thing in the city of lord Krishna. The 70 storey temple of Lord Krishna is going to be one of the largest temples in the country. It is being conceived by ISCKON Bangalore team.
