Docomo breaks partnership with India


Japanese Telecom Company NTT Docomo has ended its partnership with India’s Tata group after selling its 26.5% stake in the Tata Docomo group to its partner Tata Teleservices Ltd. The decision to end the 5 year long partnership was taken after having a look over the declining revenues of the mobile service provider company.

India, country with lowest average Internet speed


As per a study done by a US firm, India has the lowest average internet speed in the Asia Pacific region at 1.5 mbps. South Korea was once again the only country with an average connection speed of over 20Mbps.

South Korean president offers resignation


South Korean president Chung Hong Won offered his resignation after his government was criticized in the ferry management process. A ferry named “Sewol” sank during a routine trip and more than 300 travellers of the ferry are missing.

USA, country bringing highest FDI in India


USA took over from Mauritius as the top gateway of money bought from the overseas market through the FDI route. The largest amount worth Rs.4.337 lakh crore came from US at the end of 2013 followed by Mauritius at 3.31 lakh Crore.

US and Philippines sign defense agreement


The USA and the Philippines have signed an enhanced defense cooperation agreement for a period of 10 years. This will provide American forces with temporary access to a few military camps of the latter country.

Two former popes declared saints


John XXII and John II were declared saints by Pope Francis at the Vatican. Pope John XIII reigned from 1958-1963 and is considered as a cult figure by the liberal Catholics for having convened the Second Vatican Council. Pope John Paul II had reigned from 1978-2005.

15th IIFA awards


The ceremony was held at Tampa Bay, Florida. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was the best film. Life time Achievment award was given to Shatrughan Sinha whereas John Travolta was honored with most famous Hollywood star.

Indian Americans in the 14 member advisory commission on AAPIs by Barack Obama


3 Indian Americans have been nominated in the 14 member advisory committee on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders by US president Barack Obama. The three are:- Lieutenant Colonel Ravi Chaudhary (US Air Force), Community leader Shekar Narasimhan and Prominent actor Maulik Pancholy.
