Jet Airways appoints new CEO


Jet Airways announced that a new CEO has been appointed following the resignation of the previous one. This airlines appointed aviation specialist Cramer Ball as its new CEO. The activities of the airline will be managed by director and manager G. Shetty till the new CEO takes charge.

Sushma Swaraj becomes first lady Minister of External Affairs


Sushma Swaraj became India's first woman External Affairs Minister. She was also the youngest cabinet minister in Haryana government. She also holds the distinction of being the first woman CM of Delhi. She has been allocated the charge of Overseas Indian Affairs as well.

Deputy Secretary or Director level officers to be appointed as PS to Cabinet ministers


The Centre has asked all government departments to ensure the availability of deputy secretary/director level officers for appointment as PS to Cabinet ministers. The Department of Personnel and Training has indicated that this will be an interim measure.

Cabinet appoints SIT special probe team to investigate black money


A special investigation team has been set up by the Cabinet for unearthing black money. The SIT will be preparing a comprehensive action plan for the creation of institutional structure for unearthing black money. The SIT will be headed by former SC judge M. B. Shah.

Piramal Capital merges private equity arm with NBFC


Piramal Capital has merged its real estate private equity fund management business Indiareit with a non-banking finance company into an integrated vertical. The new vertical Piramal Fund Management will be for exposure to real estate for the entire capital stack including construction finance and structured debt.

Arun Jaitley allocated finance portfolio, Rajnath Singh gets home


Arun Jaitley is the new finance minister. He has also been two other important portfolios namely defence and corporate affairs. Rajnath Singh has been given the home(interior) ministry portfolio.

Venkaiah Naidu appointed as Ministry for Urban development, Gadkari gets transport


M. Venkaiah Naidu was appointed as the Minister for urban development, housing and urban poverty alleviation. He will also take charge of parliamentary affairs. Nitin Gadkari has taken charge of road transport, highways and shipping.

Vardhan gets health, Gandhi given women and child development and Irani takes charge of HRD


Harsh Vardhan is the new health minister. Maneka Gandhi has been given the portfolio of women and child development. Smriti Irani has been given the charge for the portfolio of human resources development.
