World Health Day observed across the globe

World health day was celebrated all over the world on 7th April 2014 to mark the anniversary of world health organization formed in 1948. The first world health assembly was held in 1948 and since 1950 this day is been observed. The theme for this year is “vector-borne disease”.

Viktor Orban, re-elected as Hungarian PM


The incumbent PM Viktor Orban was re elected in the parliamentary elections for another four year term. His party won about two third of the seats in a 199 member parliament. This will be his third time as the PM of the country.

Australia wins women’s T-20 final


Australia won the women’s cricket T-20 final defeating England. It was a third consecutive title win for Australia. This tournament was also held in Bangladesh.

Indian staffing federation president


Rituporna Chakraborty has been appointed as the head of Indian staffing federation, an apex body for flexi staffing. Raja Shekhar Reddy has been appointed as the vice president of the federation. The tenure for both will be of 2 years.

Brahmos test fired


The Indian army successfully test fired the advanced version of the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile with its full range of 290 km from Pokharan test range in Rajasthan. Both the Army and Navy have already inducted the missile, developed by India in partnership with Russia.
