Cursing the weather is bad farming - Group Discussion
This statement reflects “excuse”. There are some people who land up blaming situations or circumstances if they cannot achieve what they want. Cursing the situation may not help them get what they want.
For:
- Cursing the situation reflects weakness. One must learn to overcome the situation instead of blaming.
- Unfavorable situations will help us learn and encounter experiences.
- Unfavorable situations will help us progress. For e.g. A farmer is unable to sow crops because of bad weather. This situation will help him come up with possible workarounds next time.
- Usually, cursing a situation reflects that we don’t want to own our share of responsibility and that gives us a comfort zone to blame the situation.
- Cursing the weather will only overcome the situation momentarily.
- Cursing a situation hampers constructive thinking
Against:
-At times, people have no choice but to blame. Unfavorable conditions lead them to losses.
-Usually when we curse or blame the situation, we expect somebody to rescue us. This could lead to motivate us on taking some actions.
-Sometimes people are in an awkward position and need time to get out of it or devise a solution. This makes them cursing the “weather”.
-People usually curse the situation if they are being cursed or blamed. This might also help them get a control over the situation if being cursed.
Cursing a situation and or circumstances will not help us in anyway. We should take the situation the way it comes and learn to cope with it. We are the architects of our own problems and at times the unfavorable situations also arise because of our irresponsibility.
