Eligibility criteria and admission procedure to get an admission into Petroleum Engineering at UPES


I want to do B.Tech in Applied Petroleum Engineering with Specialization in Upstream. I am 10+2 student of science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. What are the eligibility criteria for admission in University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) and what is their admission procedure?

UPES offers full time B.Tech course of 4 years spread over 8 semesters. This program is meant to expertise students in Petroleum Engineering and focuses primarily on exploration and production of Oil & Gas. They cover important topics pertaining to the sector such as Petroleum Operations, Fluid Mechanics, Industrial Management, Petroleum Engineering Economics and more.

Examination Pathway admissions through UPESEAT covers upto 80% of Seats:

• You must have scored minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)

• You must have scored minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level also mandatory.

Non Examination Pathway or admissions through Board Merit / JEE Mains Score covers Upto 20% of Seats:

• For Board Merit : Minimum 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 80% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class)

• For JEE Mains Merit : Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class). Merit of JEE Mains score to be announced (on UPES website) after the declaration of JEE Mains 2014 results

For Exam Admission Pathway:

• You must qualify UPES Engineering Aptitude Test

• Followed by centralized counseling on the basis of rank obtained in UPESEAT

For Non Exam Admission Pathway/Board Merit/AIEE/JEE Mains:

• Submit the marks of 10+2/ AIEEE all India rank/ JEE Mains all India rank on UPES wbsite after the declaration of class 12th results

• Eligible candidates will be called for counseling.
