What is the eligibility criteria to join archaeology?

• A student having a strong background in the disciplines of history and culture are made for this field.

• If you want to pursue this career you should fulfil a basic qualification of a 10 + 2 pass certificate.

• After a graduation you can opt for a Post graduate course.

• Graduates in History in any stream with an aggregate of 55% marks can apply for Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma or Post graduation (MA/ M.Sc.) in different fields of Archaeology.

• Duration of these courses may vary from 1 year to 2 years.

• If you wish to pursue a Post graduate course at the Institute of Archaeology, you have to clear a set of written exams and also an interview.

• If you wish to pursue this field at a higher level you can do a Ph.D., but this can be done after completing your post-graduation in Archaeology.
