Essar Group is a conglomerate company. It began as a construction company in 1969 and diversified into manufacturing, services and retail. The company has expanded its global footprint, focusing on markets in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
Here, I am going to discuss the selection and interview process conducted in campus placement at Essar.
Selection Process at Essar
The selection process at Essar consists of four rounds:
1. Company's PPT
2. Online Written Test
3. Technical Interview
4. HR Interview
The first round is company's PPT. It includes the company's introduction given by the panels. The panels tells about the details of the company, eligibility criteria required, salaries offered etc. Candidates are also given time to clear the doubts regarding company.
Next round is Online Written Test. This is the main round to be cleared. It had four sections:
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning
- English
- Technical
Sample questions that are asked in the test are:
1. When 35 is subtracted from a number; it reduces to its 80%. Find the four-fifth of that number.
2. In a certain language, if SUNSHINE is coded as TVOTIJOF then, how will MOON be coded?
3. She has applied ____ the HOD ____ the post of lab assistance.
(a) To, for (b) To, to (c) For, at (d) To, at
4. What is a concrete derived class?
Technical Interview at Essar
Third round is Technical interview. In this, questions asked will be from mechanical sections. Some sample questions are:
1. Which equation is used to determine wall thickness for brittle materials?
2. What is the maximum percentage loss of economic cutting speed if geometric progression ratio = 1.06?
HR Interview at Essar
Last round is HR Interview that is taken by any HR person of the company. You can expect questions like,
1. Why does this role interest you? Or why have you applied for this job?
2. Would you be open to change your project/profile when required?
