Which entrance exam do I need to take, in order to get an admission in an engineering college?

- There are several Engineering entrance exams, which can get you an admission in engineering college. The foremost of all is All India Engineering Entrance Exam, also known as AIEEE, is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. A candidate should be 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board of education. The exam is based on 10+2 level of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Aptitude. Apart from Engineering, AIEEE can also get you an admission in B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture). A candidate, who appears in AIEEE, can get an admission in the colleges affiliated to AIEEE including all the National Institute of Technology also known as NITs.

- Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination: The exam is conducted after 10+2 or equivalent. The exam which is one of the toughest examinations in the world, can take you to IITs including Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi) present in various cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kharagpur, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Rorkee, Kanpur, Indore, Gandhinagar, Jodhpur, Ropar, Patna, Mandi and Jodhpur.

- Birla Institute of Technology and Science, commonly known as BITS is one of the topmost engineering colleges in India. The institute is an autonomous organization and conducts the entrance exam known as BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test) for its campus in Goa, Pilani (Rajasthan), Hyderabad and Dubai.

- Uttar Pradesh Technical University Entrance Exam (UPTU Entrance Exam) is conducted for admission in various colleges affiliated to UPTU.

- Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test, known as RPET, is conducted by Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) for admission in colleges affiliated to the university.

- Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) also conducts entrance exam for engineering courses in the university.

- Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, Tamil Nadu also conduct entrance exam for engineering.

- Jamia Milia Islamia also conducts entrance exam for its engineering courses.

- Apart from all these, there are several State technical Universities which conduct their own entrance exams and tests and have affiliation with various colleges across the state. The candidature should be from the state of domicile.
