3 former IIT graduates may well be giving the “3 Idiots” a run for their money. The popular movie which showed how technology savvy geniuses can change the world could very well be a reality, as recent reports of the Indian Smartphone which can translate languages hits the market. Firstouch is a made-for-India Smartphone which allows users to interpret English content in Indian language and vice versa by simply swiping its 4 inch screen. It also has a 48 key practical keyboard which is specially created for accessing Indian alphabets.

The 3 IIT graduates who have produced this Smartphone under their company’s banner are Akash Dongre, Rakesh Deshmukh and Sudhir Bangarambandi. Its practical keyboard and predictive content engine aims at a denunciation separator along with a phone. The Smartphone is targeting rural users who are more conversant with regional Indian languages as against Hindi or English. There is a large market for this Smartphone even as telecom operators and device makers come up with new ideas and innovations.

The initial collection of these Smartphones will be for the Gujarati users and they will be released in Rajkot this month. The price of the Firstouch phone is pegged around 6000 rupees. This is what a basic entry-level Smartphone costs. Hindi and Marathi versions of this Smartphone will be released soon. The Mumbai based company managed by these 3 IIT graduates will release Smartphones for all Indian regional languages soon.

The Mumbai based company called MoFirst Solutions Ltd which is launching this Smartphone was founded by Deshmukh who is also its CEO. He graduated from IIT in the year 2006. He founded an association with 30 year old Akash Dongre who graduated from IIT in 2005. Its third founder, Sudhir Bangarambandi graduated from IIT in the year 2008.

All three IIT graduates are looking forward to the launch of this Smartphone. MoFirst is the first company to give Indian users the benefit of such a product. Other products launched by this company include apps for Android and Blackberry phones. They also provide m-commerce and m-ticketing services and solutions.

This phone can interpret messages perceived in English to Gujarati and vice versa with a finger swipe. This Smartphone will have a wide usage among non-Hindi speaking Indians as well. It is especially useful for aged parents of overseas NRIs. This Smartphone will find many takers in small cities and towns of India.

MoFirst has been making iPhone apps for a broad range of uses. It is known for being the firm in the country which developed India’s first mobile trading platform for Motilal Oswal. This Smartphone is an innovation which will take the world of mobile phones by storm.
