Future prospect of a telecom degree and good institutes to study

I am in the final year of BTech in Computer science and aspire to go for Telecom Management for a post graduation program. I am somewhat confused about the future prospect for the Telecom industry in India. Please advise me on this and also list the best institutes that offer telecom management program and their selection criteria.

The Telecommunication or the ICT Industry is a high growth industry in India as people are becoming more and more dependent on mobile phones, internet connectivity, etc. There is no doubt that an MBA in Telecommunication Management proves to be rewarding selection. IT and software industry has equally benefitted from their rapid growth which is more likely to augment in years to come.

Eligibility required is graduation in engineering in electronics/computer/IT and related fields. Selection is based on the entrance exams conducted by the institutes. The best institutes in India that offer an MBA in telecom management are Amity University and IIT Delhi. Symbosis Institute and MIT School of Telecom Management are the other options that you can consider for a good career in Telecom. MCAT is the entrance exam to quality a seat in Amity and CAT/MAT are the other entrance tests for this course.

Pay-scale starts from Rs 3- 5 lakh per annum package; after 5 years Rs 10-15 lakh per annum and after 10 years Rs 15 – 30 lakh annual package.
