"Hindi-Chini bhai, bhai" OR "Hindi-Chini bye, bye"?
"Hindi-Chini bhai, bhai” OR “Hindi-Chini bye, bye?
Chinese President Xi Jinping made a three-day visit to meet Indian PM Narendra Modi and his cabinet to create bilateral relations. After NDA’s win in General Election, Narendra Modi’s focus has remained on improving foreign relations in last three months. The debate on India-China’s relationship starts with two different perspectives. The first perspective is realistic that the two emerging powers will continue to fight for supremacy in the Asian continent. The second perspective is liberal which states that India and China are two main emerging markets in an interdependent world, where commerce and trade sustains on peaceful coexistence. What is your view on the matter? What do think is the reality, “Hindi-Chini bhai, bhai” OR “Hindi-Chini bye, bye”?
• The peaceful cooperation between emerging powers India and China will work as a base for global interconnection and ties between national economies.
• The consumers’ classes in China and India need high quality goods and products at affordable prices which is only possible when the two countries work on their relation.
• The major problem between India and China is border problem and it is only growing trade that can ease the existing border issues.
• It is more important for India than China to solve the issues as it is India whose currency suffers due to a larger trade deficit.
• Products from China are prevalent in Indian market, but India finds it hard to sell its products in China. The problem poses a challenge as well as an opportunity for Modi government.
“Hindi-Chini bye, bye”
• The focus is purely on economic development with no importance paid to the existing bilateral matters.
• Trust is an important factor for sustainable cooperation and that is not present in the Indian-Chinese relation.
• Years have passed, war is fought but still the two countries have never ever reached close to the solution of border issue.
• Chinese threat theory is still on as there are instances of occasional crossings of the LOC by alleged Chinese Soldiers. Also, the stapled visa affair related with citizens of Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh cannot be ignored.
• Apart from the border issue, the nuclear threat stops the two countries from trusting each other. The relations of China with India’s enemy neighbors especially Pakistan cannot be ignored.
• The trade relations with China are already resulting in a huge trade deficit in India. The focus should be on solving the existing problem.
Conclusion
There is a chauvinistic rhetoric present between two nations which along with military buildup pose the severe risk of conflict between two countries. However, both countries are doing well on economic front. The liberal perspective states that a peaceful connection between India and China will result in strong economic bongs and will help the nations to solve the environmental, social and security problems. Cooperation can result in economic stability and mutual benefits but before that it is important to ensure that by doing so, PM Modi don’t opens the doors for the international parties that can pose a threat to India’s security.

- according to me there is need to make the relationship very good .from the present agreenent between both nation china is going to set up two industrial park, one in Gujarat and another one is in Mharastra at an investment of $6.8 billion . Chinese investers form electric, electronic , plastic and other products in these industrial parks and major benifit behind this is that it will provide job to those jobless people. India is in the 2nd stage of demographic dividence and 65 % popullation are under the age of 35 and there is a need of tremendous amount of increment in employment rate. All the products will be manufactured in our country so it will also improve the net export and resultan economic growth.Ya there are some fields of conflict between both nation but there is a need of peaceful conflict resolution and make the relationship as good as possible...

- So,i would like to conclude this topic. As every coin have 2 faces,so as this topic has too.
On the one hand sudden breakdown of relationship with china going to influence the economic market of india as india is somehow dependent on china in electronic or in chinese toys.
On the other hand seeing the disputes at the india china border and increasing relationship of china with pakistan , we should not shake hand with china and be ready to handle any circumstances that can happen.
But, the thing is that seeing the economical conditions both the countries are developing and without the cooperation between them it would be difficult for both the countries to stand in the global market. If both the countries will shake hand , as one of my friend said economic power of the Global market can reside in Asia. So, it would be gooog to be in favour of Hinhi- Chini vhai, bhai!!!!!

- It is a good topic to discuss the Indo-Chinese relationship. Do we need to look behind to solve our border issue, or concentrate on the present economic interface and develop our trade relations. What is more important for us? Is that the security of the country w.r.t to the border concern and growing Pak-China relations and the international stand for power, or to look just on the present scenario and concentrate on the economic development only?
To develop any relation, we need to have trust factor on each other which is almost lacking in our combo. Extending trade relations on an international scale without the trust factor wouldn’t be all that reliable. It is understandable that both India and China are emerging super-powers, who are fighting to establish their position within Asia and the world. With these fighting spirits it is difficult to carry-on the ‘bhai-bhai’ stand.
Calling it a ‘bye-bye’ relation is another extreme. To cut-off a relation sharply all of a sudden will create fatal effects. It would be like placing the foundation stone for another warfare. Ending the trade relations suddenly will increase the bitterness of the border concern which is lingering on for years. Making the situation worse from bad is no good.
Considering the pros and cons, it seems very problematic to bid Hindi-Chini relation a bye-bye route. Though not for any good, but in order to maintain peace and avoid the wrath it would be better to carry-on the Hindi-Chini bhai-bhai relationship.

- Well from the economic point of view India and China both are developing nations with a large domestic market and cheap labour and a large youth population and they can not develop their economies without the help of others such as India is the largest importer of Chinese toys similarly the Chines depend on us for the supply of cheap raw materials for their finish product..
But from the political point of view it is always going to be Hindi China Bye Bye since the last 50 years the border issue between these countries have not been resolved China has constantly violated the Anglo-Sinhgese aggrement framed in the 1960s they have potrait
Arunachal Pradesh their part numerous times, their military has penetrated 3 km in the Indian land numerous times and the way they are creating military base and border roads near Indian border has added fuel to fire in the realtionship between these two countries.
China should understand that in these era of economic slowdown no country can afford a war so both these countries must work together for peace and harmony in the region and
also for the economic development and they must realise that without these two potential superpowers the world cannot survive..

- yes. one should be extremely careful while building ties with china.since the ulterior motives of china is yet unknown.on one side they are visiting our country but on the other side, they are not taking a stand on the border issues, even going to an extent of helping pakistan in attacking india.
The bhai bhai concept if followed, should be a win win situation for both the countries. if india and china join hands and improve their economic and military relations, the world;s power center will shift towards asia. - RE: "Hindi-Chini bhai, bhai" OR "Hindi-Chini bye, bye"? -ravi (09/20/14)
- i think to make india a super power country one of the important thing is that india should have to make friends and and improve bilateral ties among competitive countries. thats why i think hindi chini bhai bhai concept is really good.but before going to sign any pact we should ensure that things happen in past should not repeat. we have to make some sure that china should follow the rules and regulations which he does'nt follow. we to insure that china should emerge as a friend for us not as a national threat.
one thing which we should do is that not allowing china to dominate us in any way.
if they are selling there products here then we should make sure that we should make ourselves able to increase our manufacturing sectors so that we acn also sell our products there.
we should take as a competitive friend not as an enemy. - RE: "Hindi-Chini bhai, bhai" OR "Hindi-Chini bye, bye"? -ashwini deshpande (09/20/14)
- the latest visit by the chinese president had very less significance in terms of economic development. it was promised that a fund on $ 100bn would be declared but in reality, only $20bn worth proposals were finally made.
The joint statement of both the countries doesnt mention anything directly about the maritime silk route trespassing and the border tensions due to intermittent military actions by the sino military.
