How can a PCI / Daughterboard be replaced in a motherboard?

The following steps are involved in the replacement of the daughterboard of a system:

- The first step would be to remove the existing daughter card that has been installed, this would involve removing the screws and the connectors from the existing card. After that the card is removed.

- The replacement card is slid into the slow from where the existing card was removed.

- It must be ensured that the card has correctly fit into the slot, there should be no gaps and most of the times the card should slide in without any obstacle.

- Once the card is in place the screw which connects it with the cabinet chassis must be tightened.

- Now the user is required to connect any cable that is required for the functioning of the card.

- Now the system is powered on and once in the operating system the user has to install the necessary drivers to make the card functional.
