How do social factors affect consumer behaviour?

Man is a social animal.He cannot live in isolation for long.He is a part of the society and cannot ignore it. He is influenced by the elements of the society in some way or the other. While making a purchasing decision, he may be influenced by:

a.Reference groups: who may refer or recommend using a particular product.

b.Family: the spouse, children, parents may influence the buying decision.

c.Peers : influence of friends circle as in case of fashion and lifestyle, habits like smoking,
drinking etc.
