How good is a career in International Trade?

Please guide me as I am completely befuddled about my career options for a post graduation program. How good is a career in International Trade? I am a commerce student and aspiring for a post graduation in International Trade.

Globalization in trade and commerce has opened up numerous opportunities for students of International, trade and business studies. This can prove to be a very good career step for you since many companies are integrating with foreign traders and in order to establish smooth business with them, a good understanding of international trade is required in many sectors like export houses, merchandisers, custom clearing houses, special economic zones, dry ports, ports, logistic companies, transportation corporations , state trading corporations, marine insurance companies, shipping corporations, directorate general of foreign trade, banks and financial institutions providing export-import finance & foreign exchange services, pre-shipment and post-shipment quality control labs, export marketing firms, BPO involved in export import business, customer relationship management, International finance, international accounting and international financial management.

I would recommend that you must go for a master’s program in International Trade only from a reputed and recognized institute like Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (Delhi), Indian Institute of Commerce and Trade (Lucknow), Indian Institute of Materials Management (Mumbai), etc. for better job prospects. Work experience alongside in these sectors would be a pro alongside.
