How to become a Commercial Pilot?
To become a Commercial Pilot in India one must follow the following steps:
1) Complete 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics.
2) Have Student Pilot License (SPL)
3) Have Private Pilot License (PPL)
4) Have Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
How to obtain Student Pilot License?
To get the student pilot license one must register with the flying club registered with the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). One has to pass an oral examination in the subjects of Air Navigation, Aviation, Meteorology, Air Regulation, aircraft and engine/instruments in general and specific conducted by Chief Flying Instructor/ Pilot Instructor In-charge of the approved Flying Training Institute in association with an officer of Regional/ Sub-Regional Airworthiness off of DGCA. A medical certificate of fitness, security clearance and a bank guarantee of Rs. 10000 is required.
Eligibility: One should have passed a minimum 10th standard or its equivalent examination from a recognized board and should be of minimum age of 16 years.
