IBS Placement Paper - Selection Process and Test Pattern

The IBS Group (IBS) is a global provider of new-generation IT solutions to the Travel, Transportation & Logistics (TTL) industry. It offers a range of products and services that manage mission-critical operations of major airlines, airports, oil & gas companies, cruise lines and tour operators world-wide.
In this section, I will be talking about the selection and interview process conducted in campus placement at IBS.
Selection Process at IBS
The selection process at IBS consists of four rounds:
1. Aptitude Test
2. Group Discussion
3. Technical Interview
4. HR Interview
The first round is Aptitude Test. The test is conducted by AMCAT. The questions asked will be from Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, Technical and some questions will be according to the branches of engineering. Some of the sample questions are:
1. Find in what ratio must water be mixed with alcohol to gain 10% profit by selling the mixture at cost price.
2. If it is 09:20, then what is the angle between the hands of the clock?
3. Choose the correct sentence from the pair of sentences given below:
(a) Gunjan thought that it was dangerous for her father to be under the tree in the rain.
(b) Gunjan thought that it was dangerous for her father to be below the tree in the rain.
4. What is the 2’s compliment representation of the number 43?
The second round is Group Discussion. Here, candidates are divided in a group and given a topic to discuss. Time alloted to prepare the topic is 15 minutes. Some of the topics you can refer are:
- Role of NITI Aayog
- Is India a secular country?
- Population of India an asset
- Merits and Demerits of cashless economy.
- Dowry system in India is curtailed only in law and not practically
Candidates must be well aware with the current affairs.
Technical Interview at IBS
The third round is Technical Interview. It consists of questions mostly from basic programming and electronics.
Some sample technical questions are:
1. What is the minterm expansion of f (P, Q, R) = PQ + QR’ + PR’?
2. What is handover and what are its types?
Also, know the basics of programming and electronic branches.
HR Interview at IBS
The last round is HR Interview. In this, questions are asked on puzzles, logical reasoning and technical. Questions that can be asked are:
1. How can you place the numbers 1 through 9 in a 3x3 grid such that every row, column, and the two diagonals all add up to 15?
2. One morning, Manisha and Alisha were talking to each other face to face at a crossing. If Alisha's shadow was exactly to the left of Manisha, which direction was Manisha facing?
