India's expanse justifies multiple time zones
India is the 7th largest country in the world, still we have had solitary time zone, yet now with its expanse, why does the need for a separate time zone arises?
For:
- In north east, due to the climatic conditions, the people report to work when half of their day is over as per the Indian Standard Time
- Due to this, they are unable to work during the day time and hence resulting into wastage of electric power supply as well
- One time zone within the whole country will keep it united
Against:
- Geographically, the expanse of India from east to west leads to a 2 hour difference between them, so if the demands of north-east are granted then western states will follow suite and in this way the whole country may disintegrate on the basis of time itself, because each state then can rightfully demand a different time zone, potentially causing harm to the country
- A Separate time zone for every state, will make India more chaotic and clumsy
- Separate time zones will also lead to snags in transmission of vital information as it may keep lingering in either of the office due to time - out
- Dividing each state with a separate time zone, will be of no use in conversing electricity and other resources as it would be used during the later hours of work.
Conclusion:
- As aptly said, “united we stand, divided we fall” so also division of the country on basis of time will lead to its fall.
