Introducing yourself at BPO interview and facing other questions
I am a fresher looking forward to BPO interviews. Please tell me how should I introduce myself with the interviewer and what steps I should follow while I give answers. Another question is how can I describe an interview room effectively to interviewer if he asks this question?
Introduction:
1. Name and location: I am XYZ (name) and I hail from (name of city), the city of (describe your city in a word or two). I relocated to Mumbai (place where you completed your studies) for my studies and looking forward to joining ABC BPO as fresher customer service executive (mention the position you applied for).
2. Educational qualification: I am an undergraduate in the second year of B.Com. and I have completed HSC from PQR School with 80% from CBSE board.
3. Mention work experience if any but since you are a fresher, you can skip this part.
4. Few lines about your family (keep it short): I am the eldest son to my parents. My father is a self employed businessman and my mother is a home maker.
5. Personality traits: I believe that my communication skills, positive approach, politeness at handling even the adverse situations will be a pro in this job. I am a quick learner willing to get exposed to new challenges.
6. Hobbies: Regarding my hobbies, I am an enthusiastic football fan. Apart from this, I find gaming, music, and debates interesting. I hope I portrayed myself well. Thank you.
Things to follow while answering questions:
• Greet the interviewer politely with a smile and maintain eye contact.
• Stay relaxed and answer the questions with confidence, but never jump on answering if you do not understand the question. Mention if you are unsure of anything that has been asked.
• Speak with clarity and select your words wisely.
• Never use negative sentences or words such as I DO NOT LIKE INDOOR GAMES. Instead go for - I PREFER OUTDOOR GAMES MORE.
• Be fluent and take good care of grammar and pronunciation. Prepare for the most asked questions in advance.
• In a BPO, your communication skills and courtesy while taking matters so maintain that tone throughout. Stay positive and answer the questions in a professional yet enthusiastic tone.
• Body language portrays more about you than what you speak. Sit upright; maintain eye contact, lean forward for emphasis but never backward. Do not look down.
Describing the room:
Well, as I see this room is beautifully furnished with just the right shade of colours and equipments. The paints, furniture, portraits, comforting equipments and all of these stuffs render positivity and professionalism to the ambience of this room. Here I get the feeling of having entered the professional world.
