Is India ready to take up a global leadership role?

People still remember the time of 1948, when the newly born India was finding it hard to survive in the tough times. The communists and the Hindu extremists were not allowing it to stand firm. There were other problems of refugees, homes, a sense of citizenship and overall stability. At that time, everyone thought it won’t be possible for India to survive. But it proved everyone wrong. Again, from last some years India is posed with a new question can it make a strong place in the international arena? Is India ready to take up a global leadership role?

Let us see if it can repeat the history this time or not.

Yes

• India has now got a new and effective leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi who knows how to take the India ahead in all fronts.

• India finally got the political stability in the form of a majority government that can take strong and harsh steps to improve the economy.

• The government priorities will be to control the inflation and tame the rising CAD to have a greater hold on its balance of payments.

• Narendra Modi has already started strengthening its relations with the neighbors and is in talks with the various countries to improve trade relations.

• The focus is also shifting on the agricultural market so that they can become more competitive and farmers can get a better price for their crops. After all, agriculture is the base of India.

No

• Despite all the programs started by the government, India still lacks on the education front.

• Talking about the health system of India, the pharmaceutical companies just manufacture the medicines to export, and not for the poor Indian people.

• The environmental pollution is at its peak in India as well as in China that can be a big challenge in the coming time.

• The growth in investment class that led to the highest number of middle class families in India is turning to be nightmares as slowly they are turning into impoverish families.

• There is a still long way to go as the country has to deal with the problems of Naxalites; the dominance of Hindutvawadis; inequalities, the restrictions on free press media, population and many more.

Conclusion

Just because India has got a majority government this time doesn’t signals that India is ready to take a global leadership role. There are many structural problems that the government has to deal with. It will need to clear all the mess of the last government making sure that it doesn’t repeat the same mistakes. The coming of new Narendra Modi led government is just the start of the good times. However, it will require a lot more time to achieve social progressivism as well as economic growth without which no country can be called as a successful economy.

  • No, India still needed some time to be so because as a global leader you need to be powerful on economic level, Social level, culture lever and be the role model for poor and developing countries but India is still struggling in taking over the domestic problem like poverty, inflation, naxalism, illiteracy and boundary disputes with neighbors. India have to fill the gape of rich and poor, work on how to increase the literacy rate and change the mindset of naxalist. Even have to make good and cooperate relation with neighbors.
Now there is a ray of hope for Indian as newly appointed PM, Narender Modi who is a strong, stagnant, Hardworking and positive PM, India has got after a long time. He even don't afraid to take hard decision. Last some Other Government were miscellaneous party of govt. and hard decision were hard to taken but this govt. is self depend. So we hope it will work hard to bring country in a better position and after some time India can think about to be the global leader.
    Thank you

  • Time is a great healer. Given sufficient time period with a stable and efficient governance, India can definitely march ahead to take up the leadership role on the international front. As rightly said, India has already proved its efficiency to emerge from a dooming situation just following our Independence.

India has been under a traumatic political status with its hard-core impact on the economy for a long time now. We have dropped down in various positive fronts like literacy, market value etc. and have grown beyond the threshold in negative virtues of population explosion, corruption, wastage of manpower, law and order issues and many more. We need to focus on amending our core self first, which will help to re-build our image across the world. India is adopting various other cultures, and leaving back its own rich culture and traditions, which is again a big set-back for our growth.

If we gain a good, efficient, transparent and stable government which could repair the loosed hinges at various fields and different levels across the nation, then undoubtedly, our efficient brains would pull us atop, far beyond our limits of imagination and help us emerge as a super power on the global scale.
